Recently, Bitly announced that Matt Thomson would be joining the executive team as Chief Product Officer. Thomson, who helped other SaaS companies such as Klout and Lithium develop and execute product strategy, will be setting the vision for the product team at Bitly.

Mark Josephson, CEO of Bitly, welcomed Thompson:

Matt has proven experience building valuable SaaS businesses that leverage proprietary data and his unique perspective will help drive more value for marketers. We’re growing quickly and Matt has the perfect skillset and experiences to help us tackle our next phase of growth–including a west coast presence.

Bitly has grown tremendously over the last few years, pulling together a powerhouse executive team to execute its new vision. Thomson brings with him a strong track record for developing new product lines and establishing strategic partnerships. He says he has watched Bitly grow to become an integral part of the internet and critical resource for marketers.

Thomson discussed how excited he is to join Bitly:

I’m very bullish on Bitly’s ability to play a massive role in both the Mobile App and Internet of Things markets of the future. When I pulled back the covers, I found a well-run company with a world-class engineering team and a humming sales and marketing engine. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this?
