MapleStory Private Servers Getting Shut Down
AsiaSoft, the eastern distributor of Nexon’s MapleStory is looking to shut down the dozens of privately run MapleStory servers. The person that was brought to light with this new move is Sean Lee who currently runs a one such server out of Singapore.
Apparently, the server was started for just him and his friends, but managed to gain significant popularity and grew to support around 32,000 players in only a few months. While this is not a lot in the grand scheme of things, ten out of twenty teens that spoke to The Straits Times in a poll stated that they played on private servers.
