Jason Valdez locked himself in a Western Colony Inn on Friday afternoon after police tried to serve him with a felony drug warrant for a missed court appearance, according to The Associated Press.

He took a woman hostage with him, though he said she was with him willingly and that the police “jeopardized her life by their actions.”
