2013 Man Booker Prize Announced... With A Vine!

The six writers who make up this year’s Man Booker Prize for Fiction shortlist, which is awarded each year for the best full-length original novel, were named yesterday, with previous nominees Jim Crace and Colm Toibin amongst those to make the cut.

Nothing particularly unusual about any of that, of course. Except, this year, Man Booker did things a little differently: they announced the shortlist via a Vine.

Yep. Accompanied by the message, “Drum roll please! We are thrilled to announce that the six novels shortlisted for the 2013 #ManBookerPrize…”, Man Booker revealed the winners with a clever six-second video, which showed a number of books being removed from a shelf to reveal that those left behind had made the shortlist.
