Major eBookstore Coming To Mobile Phone Carrier In China

eBook adoption is going to be poised to take off in China thanks to a new partnership between Taiwanese mobile telecom carrier FarEasTone Telecommunications (FET) and Taiwanese-based digital bookstore eBook Town.

Digitimes reports: “FET has signed and will sign with 150 Taiwan-based publishers of Chinese-language books, novels, magazines, periodicals, cartoons, animations, etc., including personal publishing studios, for eBook Town, the company indicated. Opened on July 8, 2010, eBook Town has more than 10,000 items of content available for download, rent or subscription currently and has reached 500,000 downloads cumulatively as well as over 70,000 visits a day on average, FET indicated.
