Main Street Connect Eyes Connecting with Entrepreneurs to Launch Hyper-Local News Sites

The Daily Norwalk, a hyper-local news site focused on Norwalk, Conn., that recently launched in beta, is the first example of what national community news company Main Street Connect is trying to accomplish.

Main Street Connect was the brainchild of CEO, editor, and publisher Carll Tucker, former editor and publisher of community news publisher Trader Publications, former publisher of The Patent Trader, which was sold to Gannett in 1999.

Its goal is to connect with local entrepreneurs and have them become affiliates of the company, following up their initial investments by helping them to set up hyper-local news sites.

From Main Street Connect’s About page:

Main Street Connect empowers local entrepreneurs to publish high-quality community news sites for their neighbors.
