The bleeding continued today at daily deals platform LivingSocial, as the Washington, D.C.-based company closed down its New York office and 86ed its local events offerings, according to a report in The Next Web.

Like Groupon, LivingSocial has struggled to turn initial enthusiasm about its deals offerings into a profitable business.

The company laid off the entire 30-member New York team responsible local events deals and will close the category. It also expects to lay off roughly 60 part-time staff who worked on events deals effective October 1.

LivingSocial has a global staff of 4,000, the company told The Next Web.
