Listly Pushes Its List Curation Tool With SEO, Social Integrations

Listly launched in 2011 with a tool that allows users to embed interactive and collaboratively generated lists on their websites. Nearly a third of all content on the Web is list-based, according to the company.

The tool competes with other social curation tools such as Bundlr and Snip.It, which was acquired by Yahoo in January.

Today’s update delivers integration with Facebook’s Open Graph so that those who interact with a publisher’s list can also share it to Facebook. The update also brings faster loading. All lists load progressively, making much bigger lists feasible. WordPress users can also embed lists into WordPress with a plugin, to avoid calls to Listly servers. SEO and mobile layout were also improved.

Formatting options and voting options have been expanded, which the company says “helps drive more user participation than just like/dislike.”

Listly also added premium services, which include sharing and editing drafts of lists before they are published and turning on and off user contribution functions. The premium features are ad-free.
