LinkedIn Thursday introduced a solution to the ages-old problem of looking for a new job without current employers or co-workers knowing about it.

The professional network announced the launch of its Open Candidates feature, which is initially available for desktop and mobile web users in the U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia, with plans to roll it out globally “soon.”

LinkedIn careers product leader Dan Shapero wrote in a blog post that Open Candidates can be used to “privately” alert recruiters of interest in new job opportunities, with users able to specify types of companies and roles they would prefer.

He added that the feature can be accessed through the preferences tab on the LinkedIn Jobs homepage, writing:

To enable the feature, simply turn sharing “on” and fill in some brief information about the types of roles you are interested in.
