Luxury automaker Lexus gathered more than 200 Instagram users in Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., to promote the 2014 Lexus IS in a unique way by creating what it called “the first collaboratively created stop-motion film using Instagram photos.”

In the creation of #LexusInstafilm, at least one image was used from every participating Instagram user, and the resulting film was created via digital sequencing of the Instagram photos.

All of the photos were captured, edited, and filtered by Instagram users, and then uploaded to the Facebook-owned photo-sharing network with specific hashtags that allowed Lexus to sequence them together on the same day.

Lexus said it also used 3D mapping technology in order to pinpoint where each Instagram user should be positioned and at what angle, so that they could each capture perfect shots.
