Facebook Lauds King.com As Model Of Facebook Integration

By Justin Lafferty

Game developer King.com announced its newest Facebook game, Pet Rescue Saga, last night at a launch party. King.com also previewed a mobile version of one of their most popular games, Candy Crush Saga. The company had a very important fan in attendance — Sean Ryan, Facebook’s director of games partnerships, who said King.com is making all the right moves.

Candy Crush Saga is the 10th-most popular Facebook game, as tracked by sister site AppData. Through Candy Crush Saga, users can seamlessly continue play from the desktop version to their iOS devices through Facebook synchronization.

At Tuesday night’s launch event, Ryan talked about how King.com has really nailed Facebook integration through the desktop-to-mobile flow of Candy Crush Saga (as quoted by Cnet):

They’ve done it in a way that other people have tried but no one has come close to doing. … They were not a flash in the pan — they’ve been around seven years. But they came out of no where in an area that was unexpected.

Facebook has been proud of King.com, which has diversified the games market, along with other stalwarts such as Kixeye. During Facebook’s third-quarter earnings call, Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he liked the way the gaming ecosystem was growing.
