Kabam has today announced a continuation of its partnership with Universal Pictures, which will see the mobile and social game developer create a new game for next year’s Fast & Furious film. The seventh film in the street-racing saga is set for release in theaters on July 11, 2014, and Kabam will release the new game to coincide with its theatrical launch.

Kabam and Universal first partnered earlier this year for the release of Fast & Furious 6: The Game [pictured]. The game quickly became Kabam’s fastest growing title, accumulating over 17 million downloads in the first month after launch. The game has been downloaded over 33 million times in total, across both iOS and Android.

That game is one of many in the currently popular drag-racing franchise, which sees players tapping on the screen to shift at just the right time as the cars automatically drive down the road.

“The Fast & Furious franchise is a global phenomenon that continues to evolve as the scale of the films grow bigger with each new release,” said Andrew Sheppard, President of Kabam Studios, in a company statement.  “Kabam is proud to continue to collaborate with Universal on such a fun and mass-appeal franchise to develop a new mobile game that progresses with the same ambition of the series,” Sheppard said.

While more details surrounding the Fast & Furious 7 game are still unknown, players looking to experience the first game from this partnership can download Fast & Furious 6: The Game for free on iOS and Android.
