Justin Bieber Beats Lady Gaga To 2 Billion YouTube Views

By Megan O'Neill

Justin Bieber has become the world’s first musician to achieve 2 billion YouTube views.  The total upload views on the JustinBieberVEVO YouTube channel currently clock in at 2,004,941,318.  LadyGagaVEVO trails Bieber with just under 1.9 billion.

According to Famecount social media statistics service, Justin Bieber crossed the 2 billion views mark over the weekend.  They attribute some of the rapid growth of his channel over the last month to his new holiday single ‘Mistletoe’, which has already racked up nearly 27 million views since it hit YouTube on October 18.

Back in October 2010, Lady Gaga just barely beat Bieber to become the first person to hit 1 billion YouTube views, but over the past year Bieber has picked up speed to steal the number one spot.  Rihanna is in third place with a whopping 1.7 billion views.

According to Famecount’s ranking of top YouTube channels, the Universal Music Group, Machinima and Expert Village channels have all already surpassed the 2 billion views mark.  However, Justin Bieber’s channel is the first single-personality channel to accomplish this feat.  Check out the top 10 YouTube channels below, according to total upload views, and let us know what you think.

Are you a Gaga fan or a Bieber fan?  Who do you think will win the race to 3 billion views?
