Facebook Product Manager Josh Williams, who joined the company after its acquisition of location-based check-in application Gowalla in December 2011, is leaving the social network Friday, according to a report in AllThingsD.

Williams was product manager for pages, locations, and events, and he was behind the recent revamp of pages to emphasize user ratings and reviews.

Designer Tim Van Damme, another former Gowalla employee who joined Facebook prior to the acquisition, is also leaving the company, according to AllThingsD, which added that the departures are unrelated.

Williams has not announced that he is leaving Facebook, so there is no word on his next move, but a Facebook spokesperson confirmed his departure to AllThingsD, saying:

Joshua has been a valuable member of Facebook.
