Jolicloud Raises $4.2M in Funding

Speaking of new operating systems, Jolicloud raised $4.2 million in series-A funding from Atomico Ventures and Mangrove Capital Partners, TechCrunch reported.

The company, founded by Netvibes founder and former CEO Tariq Krim, will also add Atomico’s Niklas Zennström and Gilles Samoun to its board, and Mangrove partner and former Skype chief operating officer Michael Jackson (no, not that one) will become an advisor.

Much like the Google Chrome Operating System, Jolicloud’s OS is open-source and aimed at netbooks.
