Japanese Wireless Company's New Safety Mode Prevents Users From Texting While Walking

Japanese wireless provider, Docomo, now provides a safety feature for walking and texting – by warning you of the dangers. It’s a voluntary safety mode, so you’ll still be able to turn it off, but if it’s on, the phone will warn you when you are using your phone and walking: Using your smartphone while walking is dangerous. The phone senses you are walking. Please stop.

To bypass the warning message, users must stop walking and close the warning message to get ten seconds of use.
