January Debut for Facebook at Work?

The latest report on Facebook at Work, the social network’s project aimed at bringing workplace collaboration to businesses, came from The Wall Street Journal, which cited “a person briefed on the matter” in pegging an early January launch.

The Journal reported that details on Facebook at Work are still being finalized, and the project is being tested in “fewer than one-dozen” companies.

The source told the Journal Facebook at Work will be free-of-charge and ad-free at launch, and it will only be available to employees of companies that sign up to offer the service.

Ingrid Lunden of TechCrunch initially reported on the project in June, and Hannah Kuchler of Financial Times reported earlier this month that the new site will contain much of the same functionality as Facebook, but it will keep personal Timelines separate from work profiles.
