iVillage, Rogers Media Team Up on iVillage Canada

Speaking of iVillage, the NBC Universal-owned women’s portal is looking north of the border, reaching a long-term agreement with Canadian media company Rogers Media that will result in the creation of iVillage Canada.

The site will be independently operated by Rogers and feature content from Rogers properties including Chatelaine, Sweetspot.ca, and Citytv, as well as from iVillage and iVillage UK.

Leigh Felesky, who led Chatelaine’s relaunch last year, will be general manager and director of iVillage Canada.

Rogers will also manage all sales and marketing, along with representing Canadian ad inventory on existing iVillage sites.

iVillage senior vice president of business development John Curbishley said:

This deal speaks volumes about the brand equity of iVillage, which is an established leader in the women’s online community.
