After Robin Williams was discovered dead at his California home on Monday, his daughter Zelda posted a touching tribute to her father on Instagram:
Hours later, Zelda announced that she would leave her Instagram account, explaining that she needed time to heal and to decide if she would delete the account entirely:
Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary. There are a couple throughout, but the real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or ‘selfies’.
My favorite photos of family are framed in my house, not posted on social media, and they’ ll remain there.
On Twitter, Zelda posted and then deleted the following tweet: “Please report @PimpStory @MrGoosebuster. I’m shaking. I can’t. Please. Twitter requires a link and I won’t open it. Don’t either. Please.”
The accounts were eventually suspended for tweeting Photoshopped images of Williams after his death (with offensive captions). Not surprisingly, Zelda decided to delete both Twitter and Instagram from her devices.
Several weeks before his death, the late actor celebrated his daughter on Instagram in what would be his final update. Williams wished his daughter a happy 25th birthday and posted a throwback picture of himself and Zelda.
