Internet.org Free Basics Has Support in India (Survey, Infographic)

A survey of more than 3,000 people in India found that 86 percent of respondents supported Internet.org’s Free Basics offerings, while 80 percent support the idea of “free access to a set of useful websites on the Internet.”

A survey of more than 3,000 people in India found that 86 percent of respondents supported Internet.org’s Free Basics offerings, while 80 percent support the idea of “free access to a set of useful websites on the Internet.”

The study—commissioned by Facebook and conducted by David Binder Research, in partnership with Indian research firm Hansa Research—also found that:

  • 65 percent of respondents agree with the following statement: “A connected India is a stronger India, and connecting more people makes India stronger, more informed and more competitive in the world.”
