Inside the Nook Touch

ZDNet has ripped apart Barnes & Noble’s new $139 eReader and posted photos of what’s inside.

There’s nothing surprising in the hardware design, but this teardown did reveal the CPU. The Nook Touch is running on a Texas Instruments OMAPs 3 CPU, and it has a clock speed of 800MHz.

That’s a pretty decent CPU for an eReader, and it’s not bad for a basic tablet, either. If and when the Nook Touch is hacked, it’s going to be a moderately capable Android tablet.
