More Than Half of World Cup Viewers to Share Favorite Ads on Social [Infographic]

More than 65 percent of World Cup viewers will be on Facebook via mobile or desktop, with nearly half of all viewers posting first to Facebook.

Nearly half of the world’s population will be tuning in to watch the 2014 World Cup. Seventy-four percent of World Cup viewers plan to be on social media during the tournament, according to a survey of American consumers by Crowdtap.

Additionally, 42 percent say they will be posting status updates about their favorite ads. And 52 percent of respondents say they will be more likely to follow a brand than a sports team once the tournament is over.
