Facebook and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will team up to host two education-based hackathons in April, aimed at uniting education technology enthusiasts, education experts, and developers.
The first HackEd 2.0 event will take place next Tuesday (April 9) at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., and it will focus on applications for attending college, social learning, and out-of-school study, all based on Facebook’s platform. A panel of expert judges will award prizes of $5,000 to the best apps in each category.
