Fiegerman said mobile Graph Search features much of the same functionality as the feature on desktop, but in the bottom screenshot, when he searched for “restaurants that my friends visited nearby,” Facebook used the GPS on his mobile phone to determine his current location, and then displayed restaurants his friends had mentioned on Facebook in the past.
Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call last Wednesday that the social network would be “building separate mobile applications beyond the main Facebook app,” and hours later, the launch of new Facebook iPhone app Paper was announced.
