Version 2.5 of Facebook’s Graph API launched Wednesday, and software engineer Jianting Wen provided an overview of the application-programming interface’s new features.

The full list of changes in Graph API v2.5 is available here, and Wen offered a look at the highlights.

According to Wen, the social network is bundling changes to the Graph API and Marketing API into a single release for the first time, in order to ease the process for developers looking to take advantage of new products and features.

She also mentioned lead ads—which Facebook opened up to all advertisers Wednesday—as a key new Marketing API feature.

Pages can now include a custom call to action to drive specific actions from the page, with Wen offering “book an appointment,” “call the business” or “make a donation” as examples.
