Google launched version 2.0 of its Gmail app for iOS today.
The app patches several noticeable pitfalls in user experience: Users can now RSVP to Google calendar invitations and manage multiple Gmail accounts within the app. The app supports up to five accounts; they are represented with by user name and photo in the menu, limiting possible confusion when toggling between accounts.
The version supports infinite scrolling in message lists and boasts an autocomplete feature in the search bar.
It also beefs up its social functionality. In addition to being able to respond to calendar requests, users will see senders’ profile pictures with their messages and will be able to comment on Google+ posts within the Gmail app.
