Want Your Tweets Indexed On Google? You Better Be Really Popular On Twitter [STUDY]

Google has been indexing tweets for some time but a new study has revealed that only a percentage of tweets are actually captured by Google, and the vast majority of those are from users who are very popular on the social network.

Stone Temple Consulting used a pair of search queries to determine that Google has indexed about 6.2 billion tweets. That sounds like a huge number, but when you consider that Twitter handles more than 500 million tweets each and every day it accounts for less than a fortnight of activity.

So whose tweets are Google collecting? Celebrities, mostly.
