Google Snaps Up Snapseed Parent Nik Software; Seeking Instagram Of Its Own?

Perhaps seeking an answer to Facebook’s acquisition of photo-sharing application Instagram, Google announced Monday -- via a post on Google Plus by Senior Vice President of Engineering Vic Gundotra -- that it acquired Nik Software, parent of iOS photo-sharing app Snapseed.

Perhaps seeking an answer to Facebook’s acquisition of photo-sharing application Instagram, Google announced Monday — via a post on Google Plus by Senior Vice President of Engineering Vic Gundotra — that it acquired Nik Software, parent of iOS photo-sharing app Snapseed.

Terms of the transaction were not announced. According to CNET, Snapseed was named iPad app of the year in 2011 by Apple.

Gundotra also revealed some milestones for Google Plus in his post:
