Google has introduced a new set of Knowledge Graph entries to search today: nutrition.

Google has introduced a new set of Knowledge Graph entries to search today: nutrition.

“Figuring out how to make smart choices about some of our favorite foods can often be a cumbersome and daunting process. So we’re hoping we can make those choices a little bit easier,” said product manager Ilya Mezheritsky.

Ask the Google voice search app, “How much protein is in a banana?” and the Google lady will tell you. The feature will also work with typed search queries, the company said.

The nutrition database Google taps to deliver the results includes more than a thousand listings and complex foods like burritos.
