Google Creates New Breed of Armchair Pundits

Google lets you track your flight, order a package, peer into your neighbor’s house, find anyone and become an expert on just about anything. And now a new feature on the search agent extraordinaire will allow you to become an armchair political pundit too.

Six weeks ahead of the 2010 midterm elections that could reshape Congress, Google has waded into politics, launching a new elections rating website that combines the forecasts of several top pollsters and media organizations.

The main feature of the site is an interactive map that allows users to click any state or Congressional district and find out which party is projected to win November races for the Senate, House or governor’s seat.
