Google Creates Crisis Map, Cancels Android Event for Hurricane Sandy

While East Coast dwellers are bracing for Hurricane Sandy, Google has created a crisis map to track the category-1 hurricane as it brings strong winds and dangerously high tides from Virginia to Massachusetts beginning Monday night. The company has also cancelled its Android event that was scheduled for October 29 in New York City.

Google shared a link to the map today on Google+. From the blog post:

Just launched: A new crisis map with several Hurricane Sandy–related layers, including current and forecasted locations, courtesy of NOAA-National Hurricane Center; cloud and wind information; and public alerts featuring emergency information like evacuation routes.
