Glove and Boots Puppets Host Out-Of-The-Box Reddit AMA, Answer Questions With Videos

By Megan O'Neill

Damien Eckhardt-Jacobi and Vincent Bova, the dudes behind the lovable array of Glove and Boots characters Mario, Fafa and friends, are doing a Reddit AMA!  And that’s not all—they’re doing things a little bit differently.  Instead of the written format of the “usual” AMA, questions will be answered with videos, featuring the Glove and Boots characters of your choice!

Eckhardt-Jacobi and Bova have been puppeteering since 2004.  They got their start in the NYC subway, but moved online and started making videos when they realized “that Mario and Fafa begging New Yorkers for change was not the way to do things.”

Here at Social Times we love Glove and Boots (and particularly Mario and Fafa).  They’ve shared 10 reasons to hate Facebook, everything you need to know about video blogging, my personal favorite “Too Much Olympics” and more.  And we’re not the only ones that love Mario and Fafa (and the rest of the Glove and Boots gang), which is why Eckhardt-Jacobi and Bova decided that, “Since the puppets are more interesting than we are, we’ll answer your questions with videos from the Glove and Boots character of your choice (Mario, Fafa, Gorilla, Thor, Santa, Jack Woods, Zombie, Stewart, etc.).”  Oh, and here’s proof it’s really them:

The fun is just getting started on Reddit.  The first question, “What is gorilla’s favorite joke?”, was answered with the video below.  The questions are rolling in and we can’t wait to see how the Glove and Boots team answers, how many videos they’ll upload and how many people will be getting in on the AMA action.  It’s just like the Old Spice response campaign…but with puppets!  Huzzah!
