GDC 2015: MindMaze Unveils Thought-Powered Virtual Reality Game System

The technology combines virtual reality, augmented reality and motion capture to provide a realistic gameplay experience.

A major theme of this year’s Game Developers Conference is virtual reality, and in keeping with this trend, neurotechnology company, MindMaze, today unveiled its thought-powered virtual reality, augmented reality and motion capture game system, MindLeap. The system is based on MindMaze’s neurotechnology engine, which predicts brain and muscle activity to trigger virtual experiences in real-time. The company promises near millisecond synchronization to provide the most realistic experience possible for users.

MindLeap 2Expected to launch in late 2015, MindLeap’s engine will be available to game developers as an SDK, and to gamers via a head-mounted display consisting of “NeuroGoggles” and 3D motion capture cameras.
