Facebook adds civil unions and domestic partnerships to their list of possible relationship statuses
Last week, Facebook added civil unions and domestic partnerships to their list of possible relationship statuses, allowing more online representation for same-sex couples.
The decision was applauded by gay rights activists and social media users alike. GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios said that the Social Network has “sent a clear message in support of gay and lesbian couples to users across the globe by acknowledging the relationships of countless loving and committed same-sex couples in the U.S.
