Social and mobile game developer GamePoint has announced the release of its latest social casino title on Facebook: GamePoint Poker. The game joins existing titles including GamePoint Bingo, Royaldice and Cardparty, and allows users to player against others while forming friendships.
In GamePoint Poker, users can play at Limit, No Limit or Sit & Go tables. Each of these can be customized with varying stakes or buy-in amounts, and real-time player numbers show gamers how many other users are playing with those same figures.
Each mode offers the same base Texas Hold’em Poker experience, as players are given two cards and must make the best hand possible using the cards on the table. Players have access to buttons for checking, folding, raising and more, and a list of gamers at the side of the screen shows the number of observers as well as players.
One of the main focuses of GamePoint Poker is socialization, as chat rooms encourage users to chat with others. In future releases on other devices, this original Facebook connectivity will allow users to find their friends to play with across devices.
Outside of the poker tables, players can spend their virtual winnings on in-game badges which decorate their profile, or spend real money to add more chips to their account. Users also earn achievement medals for completing specific tasks within the app, like playing for a total time of two hours, or winning a hand with Pocket Jacks, as examples.
“We’re proud of this latest addition to our suite of social casino games. After extensive testing by some of our most committed GamePoint players on our own portals, we feel we’re ready to present GamePoint Poker to the world by launching it on Facebook canvas,” said Rik Haandrikman, director of business development at GamePoint. “GamePoint has always been a strong player in the synchronous multiplayer and social casino spaces. Poker was a bit of a no-brainer, but we wanted to do it right. With GamePoint Poker, I feel we’ve created something that our players will love.”
