Frankie Boyle Quits Twitter Over Timeline Changes

Comedian Frankie Boyle has quit Twitter after saying he “can’t be bothered” after the recent changes Twitter made to the way that timelines work.

Last month Twitter started showing “recommended” tweets to users from profiles that they were not following. This included favorites and account suggestions.

The update was controversial and angered many users including, it appears, Boyle.

“I can’t be bothered reading stuff I’ve consciously not bothered to follow,” tweeted Boyle earlier today. “I think that’s Twitter over then, to be honest.”

“I’ll still stick up links to podcasts, appearances etc,” he added, before tweeting “Bye.”

Frankie Boyle has been using Twitter since November 2008. After a rocky start he began to use the platform as a way to share material and engage with fans. He stirred the pot a few times along the way, too, much to the delight of most of his more than 1.7 million followers.
