Foursquare Product Manager Christen Duong Leaves for Flipboard

By Devon Glenn

After two years at Foursquare, product manager Christen Duong has announced that she’ll be leaving the company (and New York City) to work at Flipboard in San Francisco.

During her brief tenure, Duong worked on improvements to Foursquare’s mobile offerings in rapid-fire succession. In June 2012, the company rolled out a complete redesign of its mobile app. In October, the team added an Explore tab for using a mobile device to discover new places. In December, it rolled out contextual place pages that show pictures and tips from friends.

In her new position, Duong will work on improving content discovery for Flipboard, a social magazine.

Said Duong in a blog post announcing her decision, “It’s bittersweet to leave such a great team and product. Whenever you build something new and shiny that do things other companies can’t do, you leave a piece of yourself behind. I’m leaving it in good hands though and can’t wait to see the next things to come!”

Foursquare did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
