Please don’t take this the wrong way, but would you like to live a little longer? Assuming the answer is “yes,” here’s some encouraging news published in The Lancet that is mobile gadget and app actionable.
Minimum amount of physical activity for reduced mortality and extended life expectancy: a prospective cohort study
The recommended amount of exercise per week is 2.5 hours per week. That may not sound like much but is, in fact a challenge for a lot of people. The good news in the research reported by The Lancet is that even 15 min a day or 90 min a week of moderate-intensity exercise might be of benefit, even for individuals at risk of cardiovascular disease. The researchers found that 15 minutes of exercise per day (1.5 hours per week) was associated with a 14% reduced risk of all-cause mortality.
