Find Your "Implicit Twitter Feed": The People You Should Be Following
You leave a trail of information about you with every interaction on the web. And while some are trying to use that information in nefarious ways, Xobni is using its technology to make this information trail work for you.
One of the newest features they’ve developed is the ability to find your “implicit Twitter feed” : tweets from the people you should be following based on who you are already interacting with online.
They’ve developed Smartr Inbox for Gmail to enhance the Gmail experience based on your social graph. They gather data about who you’re emailing, calling, and otherwise interacting with on Gmail and use this to provide you with anything you need to know about your contacts in a conveniently located sidebar.
Now, Smartr also includes Twitter support.
Smartr users are now served up a list of potentially amazing Twitter follows that would be a good fit for them based on their current social graph. By pulling information out of your Gmail contacts, Xobni is able to suggest Twitter followers that you’ll be interested in.
The list of followers that Xobni creates is based on who you already interact with in Gmail, but who you aren’t yet following on Twitter, either because you don’t know they’re there, or you just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Although you could go through page upon page of Gmail contacts and do some Googling to find their Twitter usernames, the Smartr app will do all of this for you.
And, the part that I like best: Smartr will gather all of these potential Twitter contacts and create a custom Twitter list for you to follow, so you don’t have to follow all of them individually.
