U.S. Military Closes Ranks Around Facebook Timeline

The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard are joining the ranks of the first Facebook pages to upgrade to timeline, in conjunction with the company's marketing conference in New York.

The U.S. army, navy, air force, marines and coast guard are joining the ranks of the first Facebook pages to upgrade to timeline, in conjunction with the company’s marketing conference in New York.

The move complements an ongoing effort by Facebook to enhance communications for the members of the military and their families through the social network.

Joel Kaplan, vice president of U.S. Public Policy for Facebook said:

New Facebook pages give government agencies, lawmakers, and political campaigns more engaging ways to tell their stories, and we’re excited to see branches of the U.S.
