RSVP To Watch U.S. Budget Vote On Facebook
U.S. House Republicans are rallying voter support for their side of the vote on the U.S. Balanced Budget Amendment, with a Facebook event page linking to a livestream of the proceedings on Friday.
GOP members of the U.S. House of Representatives have issued a unique invitation to the public: RSVP to watch Congress debate the balanced budget amendment through a specially-created Facebook event page ahead of Friday’s scheduled vote.
The page encourages attendees to pass along materials about the legislation to their friends, by leveraging Facebook’s share functionality. For example, attendees who have RSVP’d on Facebook can:
- Click on a link to share the event in their Facebook timeline and invite friends;
- Receive special updates throughout the day about the timing of the vote and debate, which will be streamed online;
- Share an infographic in their Facebook timeline that explains the amendment in greater detail.
