Facebook Users Favor Rick Perry During GOP Debate

Facebook users posted more frequently about Rick Perry than any other candidate during last night's Republican presidential debate.

Rick Perry beat out Mitt Romney and Ron Paul — in that order –based on how quickly posts featuring their mentions appeared on Facebook during the Republican presidential debate last night.

The rate was overall slower than previous GOP debates, averaged about a post about every 30 seconds for Perry, about every minute for Romney followed by Paul.

The fall campaign season officially kicked off with yet another Republican debate among the presidential contenders at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

Hosted by NBC News and Politico, the event marked the first time Texas Governor Rick Perry joined former Governor Mitt Romney, Ambassador Jon Huntsman, Congressman Ron Paul, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann and the rest of the gang.
