Is It Fair for Facebook to Permanently Disable Accounts?

I receive numerous emails every day from users looking to have their accounts re-enabled. After informing that I can’t do anything about it and forward them Facebook’s email address, users typically have their account turned back on. On a few rare occasions, users are permanently banned for violating spam policies or any other number of terms. It’s unfortunate because many users have become substantially dependent on the “social utility”.

Yesterday I received one such email from an individual pleading for help since they were informed by Facebook that they won’t be able to get their account back.
