The social network registered three domain names based on the phrase Facebook Newsroom.
Fusible reported that the social network registered facebook-newsroom.com, facebook-newsroom.net, and facebook-newsroom.org.
The most obvious URL, facebooknewsroom.com, was scooped up by a Kansas resident last year, according to Fusible.
We have a hunch there might be a few phone calls between Menlo Park, California, and Kansas in the near future.
UPDATE: Facebook said the new URLs are related to an upgrade to its press room.
Facebook has been on a domain-name splurge over the past few days. It may or may not have registered for three URLs based on timelinemoviemaker last week, as while the obvious connection exists, the buyers’ identity was hidden.
And earlier last week, the social network acquired a series of domains based on FB Origin, but it has not announced plans for a product under that name.
Readers: Do you think Facebook has concrete plans for products such as a movie maker for timeline and something called FB Origin, or is the company just keeping its options open for potential future projects?
