Facebook Messenger Users Seeing Surveys Within App

Some Facebook Messenger users are being prompted within the application to answer surveys about their experiences.

The message pictured to the right appeared at the top of the list of recent conversations in the iOS app, reading:

Want to take a survey? Please help us improve Messenger.

And the survey questions (pictured below) were:

  1. Which of the following apps makes a sound, vibrates your phone or pops up on your mobile screen when you receive a new message? (The choices were: email; Facebook Messenger; SMS or text messaging; other messaging services such as WhatsApp or Snapchat; calendar events; Facebook or other social media services; and phone.)
  2. Which mobile messaging service do you use the most to stay connected with your close friends and family? (The choices were: WhatsApp; Facebook Messenger; SMS or text messaging; Snapchat; Google Hangouts; iMessage; and other.)
  3. Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied are you with Facebook Messenger?
  4. Overall, how satisfied or dissatisfied are you with SMS/text messaging?
  5. How important is Facebook Messenger for staying connected to your close friends and family?
