Facebook Messenger Renders Beluga Extinct

So much for "Save the Whales." Beluga, the group messaging service acquired by Facebook March 1, will be completely extinct as of December 15.

So much for “Save the Whales.” Beluga, the group messaging service acquired by Facebook March 1, will be completely extinct as of December 15.

Beluga co-founders, Chief Executive Officer Ben Davenport, President Lucy Zhang, and Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Perlow announced that the service will be shut down November 11, but users will still be able to access their old pods and messages through December 15, adding that users who wish to do so can download archives of their pods.
