In the first of what will likely be several Facebook Messenger-related announcements this week, the application has been integrated with Dropbox.
Both the Messenger and Dropbox apps must be installed on users’ phones, and Dropbox will be listed as an available source in Messenger’s “More” menu. Any files can be shared directly from Messenger into users’ Dropbox accounts.
Dropbox announced the integration in a blog post:
Videos and images—including animated GIFs—will be displayed directly in your chats. For everything else, tapping “open” will bring recipients to the Dropbox mobile app, where they can preview and save files.
