Facebook was among eight technology companies that wrote to the Federal Communications Commission asking for approval of AT&T’s $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA.
The technology companies argue that the acquisition will result in more people gaining access to high-speed wireless service, according the New York Times.
For Facebook, this translates into more people accessing social media while on the go, a market the company has designated as a priority for growth this year.
Additionally, ten venture capital companies also wrote to the FCC, including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Partners.
