Tokyo-based startup Eureka released an updated version of Peepapp, its contribution to the list of iPhone apps that tap Facebook friends to help users sort through iPhone apps, such as Kinetik.
Peepapp enables users to choose from the more than 500,000 iPhone apps available in the iTunes App Store by showcasing apps that are popular among their Facebook friends and Twitter contacts.
Users can also tap into Peepapp to discover apps being used by participating celebrities.
Peepapp ignores the iTunes Top iPhone Apps list, relying exclusively on input from Facebook friends and Twitter contacts, and the app also eliminates apps already downloaded by users from the discussion.
