The blogosphere’s buzzing about whether and when Facebook’s launching an iPad application, while the blog that sparked the discussion — former Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoyen’s remains down for the count.
Verkoeyen had posted that he’s taken a Google mobile engineering gig out of frustration over Facebook’s delays in releasing the iPad application he led the development of and had been complete as recently as May.
Negotiations between Facebook and iPad maker Apple have become fraught with tension, and efforts to smooth things out may explain the delays, says the very talented Kim-Mai Cutler on our sibling blog Inside Mobile Apps.
Some are speculating that Facebook might unveil an iPad application in time for Apple’s iPhone 5 event October 4.
